Blown away reading about the philosophy, research, and process behind the Workman Keyboard Layout (http://workmanlayout.org/)
PS. This is design.

@aral @hntooter I'm using KOY, a variant optimised for german and english texts. It features additional and very useful layers for special characters, which is helpful for programming (inherited from NEO2). Still have to use QWERTY from time to time. http://adnw.de/index.php?n=Main.SeitlicheNachbaranschl%c3%a4ge https://www.neo-layout.org/

I've been using Workman for almost a year now on an ErgoDox Infinity.
I made the switch simultaneously, which I think was a good call, to make the transition easier for my brain due to the radically different muscle memory in use.
It has been a very pleasant experience for my hands, which are much more relaxed, and there's no more need for fingers gymnastics.

In particular I'm very fond of the thumb keys on the ErgoDox, which really are a saviour for your poor pinkies reaching Return, Ctrl, Shift, Tab, Backspace and Delete.
I'm still fluent in QWERTY, as I'm using that on the laptop.
But since I'm using two layouts on two different keyboards, I'm still struggling getting the speed I used to have with QWERTY.
Albeit my QWERTY speed is somewhat slower now.
