Are they looking to diversify their revenue stream? Yes.

Have they made a commitment to:

1. Not accept hundreds of millions of dollars from Google + other surveillance capitalists (e.g., if they reach $X in sales)?

2. Make Firefox private by default?

3. Make their products zero knowledge?

Nope, nope, and nope.

Without commitments, this is just a company making more money because, heck why not?

@aral I'm hoping that this is the nudge / lever that'll allow them to break those contracts. If this took the place of their search business, it'd be amazing.

@jalcine @aral Right, they gotta play this cool because they don't want to lose the first revenue stream until the second one gets a chance to really take off.
