“Privacy professionals” are just that: professionals. They are paid to work in privacy and protect the interests of their employer. So when someone tells you they work “in privacy”, don’t assume they work to protect you. Ask them who pays their salary. That’s who they protect.

In addition to the donations to Small Technology Foundation El Joa mentioned that basically cover hosting fees:

- Sold three family homes in Turkey (have no more to sell). Total money from that might have bought one small flat here.

- Proceeds from sales of @better (almost pay the rent some months)

- Speaking fees (currently zero, thanks to pandemic)
