Surveillance capitalism isn’t some corruption of capitalism; it’s just what capitalism is in the digital network age.

@aral The market will adapt to whatever situations we allow, figuring out how to make profit. We allow profitable surveillance, so that's what we get.

@aral Capitalism is the enemy of all life on Earth.

@aral Have you read Zuboff's The Age of Surveillance Capitalism and do you have more specific reasons why you disagree with her?

Corporatism is slightly different to #capitalism.

Once something is deemed #tooBigToFail, and starts receiving bailouts, there is a crossover into #corporatism.

Eg. If you personally know and relate to an owner of a cornerStore do you care that they know a bitcoin address of yours? That's capitalism but not necessarily #surveillanceCapitalism.

There is a #mutualRespect and #symbiotic relationship. SmallBusiness depends on the success of locals.

Corporate #bailouts destroy capitalism.

@aral Now that privatised digital IDs and access controls (CommonsPass e.g.) are being rolled out, it will become increasingly difficult to even move in society and doing most basic things in life without submitting to surveillance capitalism.

Yuval Harari's warnings seem to come true in light speed.
