I feel the principles of secularism should apply to any religion, including capitalism.

@aral capitalism certainly as we see it today is sustained by both magical thinking and a priestly class of economists who are the new court astrologers. It is rather ironic that Adam Smith's "wealth of nations" was a kind of revolutionary response to the feudal rentierism of medieval Europe only to end up with rentier capitalism today.
