Does anyone else here have a Onewheel? And if so, does it nosedive when you’re staying pretty much stationary? Maybe more so when you’re staying stationary on an incline?

Not a huge deal but I’d love to know if it’s expected behaviour or whether I should try and get mine serviced.

@aral it’s not expected. Depending on the model you can adjust it yourself, usually with an app that connects via bluetooth.

@intermobility Hmm, known issue then?

Usually encounter it when stopped waiting for a light. Seems to stress it out that I’m keeping it stationary :)

@aral Well, if it’s consistently out of balance, then you can probably fix it by adjusting the balance by a few degrees. If it usually behaves nicely and only in some situations tips over, then you probably can’t fix it yourself. I wouldn’t trust it anymore in that case. Who knows what kind of strange behavior comes next. If it lets you down, it can hurt a lot.

@intermobility It’s never nosedived while moving but I hear you. I like to carve rather than go fast so hopefully could run it out if it ever did but it has made me more cautious.

@aral yes have. no doesn't nosedive except under well known circumstances that they warn about.

That sounds like a defect to me.

Side note: Sonnywheels have saved my bacon from nosedives SO many times. Worth EVERY penny.

@masukomi Thanks :) Mine’s never nosedived while moving (and I have plates on but should really practice some nosedives just in case) :)

@aral Only if it's such a steep incline that the nose is near the ground. Do you have simple stop turned on? If so, starting to roll backwards could cause it to disengage.

@jasongraphix Hmm, I wonder if it’s a function of the incline and battery charge? 🤔

(I don’t have simple stop on; enjoy drifting backwards way too much.) :)

@aral Weird. Unless the battery is almost dead, it should have enough juice to roll forward to keep you balanced. You could also try riding in Elevated mode, but I hate riding with the nose raised.

@jasongraphix Hmm, I’ll check what setting I’m on and maybe have a play. Whatever I’d set it to, I do love it when I’m floating :)

@aral XR does that sometimes but I assume I don’t have my front foot planted on the footpad well enough.

@aral Maybe foot pad sensor ? Sounds like sensor(s) are not detecting your foot and turning off the board … normally needs to be stationary for this to happen

@mstrean @aral exactly this, happens way more often for me right now due to different shoes. PintX might also be a little bit too small for me in hindsight

@aral
I asked a girl friend of mine who has two onewheels (this is already funny), one pink and one blue, and she told me that only happened with the pink one.

P.S.: I think she was a little upset with me because I couldn't stop laughing...
