2,000 children. Thatâs how many children have been killed by Israel in two weeks of siege and bombing in Gaza.
Two. Thousand. Children.
This is unconscionable.
Nothing justifies this.
@aral you ok?
@voron I am, yes. The children in Gaza are not. 2,000 of them are dead and counting. Killed by Israel in two weeks of bombing.
@aral
woher kommen diese Zahlen?
#israel #Genocide #gaza #ceasefire
It's on every news site, even very mainstream ones. It was all over yesterday's headlines.
Example:
https://edition.cnn.com/2023/10/24/middleeast/israel-hamas-gaza-war-tuesday-intl-hnk/index.html
I'm curious why you asked that question in the first place...?
@aral I'm kind of afraid of my fellow human reaction when I talk about that. Seem like one scapegoat is enough to slaughter a whole population for a lot of people .
@aral they need to stop. What they're doing won't solve anything or avenge the people Hamas killed and is so morally wrong.
@aral Perhaps you should be out in the streets protesting Hamas. Hamas knew exactly what it was doing when it invaded Israel and massacred 1600 Jews, raping, beheading, burning, taking hostages.
@nilikm @aral Hamas is a terror organization that killed almost 2000 Israeli. Unforgivable terror acts.
Israel is a state that calls itself a democracy. And it does worse things than Hamas. Nothing can possibly justify this. This is the kind of over the top revenge carnage the Nazis committed all over Europe when attacked by partisans. Unforgivable war crimes. This will weigh heavily on Israelâs soul for centuries to come. History will judge them harshly.
@aral This is worth considering. https://x.com/ehunterchristie/status/1716737480735556029?s=46&t=P4408Y1VsBrWg9PtwcisIA
"But they killed 100 of our people, and their children throw rocks on our tanks and call us names. Surely this deserves some mild punishment!"
@axnxcamr What Hamas did was also barbaric (and they slaughtered over 1,000 people, not 100) and deserves to be condemned in the strongest possible terms. What it does not justify is collective punishment of the Palestinian people in Gaza, war@ crimes, and genocidal intent.
I know... and yes, Hamas should be held responsible, tried and condemned for what they've done.
But this is not it.
This is not justice.
This is a genocide disguised as vengeance and allowed by the UN cowards who do not have enough balls to call out Israel.
Sorry to use your post to vent Aral... this disgusts me no end.
@axnxcamr No worries. You and I both.
PS. The UN secretary general gave a very good and balanced speech about this yesterday and Israel are now calling for his resignation due to it. I have links to it in my timeline from yesterday.
@aral @axnxcamr I see the hashtag genocide being used very liberally these days and I wonder about the rationale. You now even add "intent" to the game.
As far as I'm aware it's neither the intent of the Israeli government or people to eliminate Palestinians nor to occupy Gaza. On the other hand you have a terrorist organization called Hamas that literally wants to destroy Israel. It luckily doesn't have the means, but October 7th was a very clear statement of intent.
@livinghell @aral @axnxcamr I'm quite certain Israel would prefer the terrorists to simply surrender to avoid any deaths.
As for the buildings, they will eventually be reconstructed with European tax payer money, which I don't mind.
@aguleb @aral @axnxcamr I mean, if İsraeli state wanted no Hamas, there wouldn't be one to begin with. (Weirdly enough, this was how the US war on terror became a thing. States kinda create their own demons.) They would simply leave occupied territories and at least try to work out a shared custody for jerusalem. I am afraid if Hamas surrendered Netanyahu would have to convert to radical islam, following the same logic with the ending of nolan's dark knight.
@aral Apparently Israel love so much terrorism it wants to create new generations of young people with enough resentment and hate to become terrorists later in their life. In a way maintaining the conflict is a good way for Israel extreme-right to stay in power forever.
