We value your privacy. That’s why we allow our 1,512 partners to fuck yours.
Because fuck you, that’s why.
@aral They definitely don't get the irony of that, do they? Arseholes.
@aral "we value your privacy... high enough so that the price for our partners is right"
@aral been seeing Admiral's integration popping up quite often lately.
@aral
i have seen so many policies that have recently added
*legitimate interest*
@brentpruitt @aral What is this "legitimate interest" really? An enterprise, trying to profit (hence the enterprise) by selling user data to someone else - is that "legitimate" enough? ️
@brentpruitt @aral yeah, I was never quite sure what that means, but me no likey do me no touchy stuff that has this glued to it
@aral Admiral should be the litmus test for whether ad blockers work. And for whether browsers like Chrome are going out of their way to block them.
I know YouTube is the big one right now, but Admiral has been getting worse, and it seems like their "disable this message for now" option is just putting off the inevitable
@aral in fairness, that is one HELL of a polycule
@aral Value =
@aral
"If you value my privacy, why are you sharing my data with 1,512 other companies?"
"Because we couldn't find a 1,513th...yet"
@aral Spoiler alert
“We value your privacy”
NARRATOT: “They did not.”
@aral@mastodon.ar.al They not only "allowed" but also "actively invited" their partner.
