@Vivaldi Hey folks, just a quick heads up, I was going to use your browser while recording my next video but I can’t because I can’t get my screen reader to read the page (unlike how it can on Firefox and even in Chrome). Likely it’s the issues presented here: https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/60027/vivaldi-browser-screen-reader-accessibility
Would love to use it but I can’t until it works with screen readers.
@Vivaldi OK, well, scratch that, I am going to be using it because other stuff is broken on other browsers on Linux and Orca is broken and at least I can customise Vivaldi to be as plain as possible for the screencast. Will ping you folks once I have it so you can see the accessibility issue (I’ll be comparing it to Firefox which doesn’t have the same problem – as far as I can see neither to Chrome or Chromium-based Edge.)
I do love how I was able to remove almost everything from the interface.
@Vivaldi PS. The automatic light/dark theme switching is broken under GNOME + Wayland (Fedora).
@aral Unless I'm mistaken, GNOME does not offer this functionality by default. Personally I use the "Dark Mode Switcher" extension and I have no problem (Fedora Silverblue 39). But I don't use any particular theme, I kept the default one.
@lebout2canap In recent versions it does offer colour scheme switching but not on a schedule. I use the same extension to automate it based on sunrise/sunset times (which is also broken in GNOME because the location services thinks I’m in Sweden even though I haven’t been in Sweden for several years now) :)
@aral but you are welcome!
@torsten Haha, thanks :) It would be nice to visit again soon. Have some good friends there that I miss :)
@aral Fortunately there is manual mode, it's always better than nothing.
