Man, you gotta love the attitude of GNOME devs and the whole culture of Linux sometimes, really…
So on Fedora, which ships with Firefox (without codecs so can’t play videos), you can’t delete text with the on-screen keyboard because the backspace key is broken (also in some other apps).
So about that new Linux tablet you got…
Anyway, here’s a video of the bug in this issue from 1 year ago:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/6340
But here’s the best bit:
Commenter: Can you prioritize this pls?
Dev: No.
@jeff gnome’d if you do, gnome’d if you don’t :)
@aral@mastodon.ar.al i use kde so i avoid getting gnome'd as often
@jeff I did try it out on the tablet but it has its own issues (like not showing tab, etc., on the on-screen keyboard for Kosnole). But, on the whole, I was very impressed by how far they’ve come since I’d last had a look (which was, admittedly, a long time ago).
@aral@mastodon.ar.al kde always has fixes in the pipelines unlike gettin gnome'd and having bugs fester as devs operate in denial.
@phnt@fluffytail.org @aral@mastodon.ar.al of course, the difference is the project's general additude towards handling bugs, night and day differences really
