An everyday capitalism-related warning: if you’re planning on buying an Apple Watch online with the solo loop, don’t. You can’t just send the strap back if there’s a problem with it (mine caused contact dermatitis after a few day’s use). They’ll happily take the whole order back though because, well, fuck you, I guess. Anyway, caveat emptor and all that. And your daily reminder that trillion-dollar corporations are all asshats.
Right, as you were.
@aral the rubber loops also break/tear regularly. I even had a salesperson in an official Apple Store say it’s so commonplace that he tells potential Watch buyers not to buy one! (Meanwhile my Velcro bands are still great)
@kvltjam They must be making a killing on those. Can’t imagine they’re more than a few euros to produce and being sold for > 10× that.
@aral the “woven” ones, while much more expensive, are actually pretty good. My wife has one that she’s had zero problems with for years
An apple watch seems so unnecessary.
@dodgytheories It has its uses :)
