I just updated the Small Technology Foundation funding page to use Ethereum instead of Nano as the cryptocurrency option since Ethereum is now proof-of-stake instead of the planet-destroying proof-of-work (hello, Bitcoin and co.) and because Nano is apparently a pain to obtain (had a few folks complain).

proof of stake is literally plutocracy.
prof of stake means everyone who is already rich gets freshly printed money.
distribution is concentrated and core folks ate firk believer in Futacracy, including Vitalik Buterin who said this is his religion.
Countless people were and are still being scammed.
It is a shadow government authoritarian structure with large companies like microsoft and investors like peter thiel in their core.

you spit on bitcoin, but distribution is much better. energy prices empower mainly leveraging more solar ...and payments are cheaper and scale better with lightning.

We scrape by because Laura works at Penpot and because I sold two houses to work on what we work on. What changed is what I said: they moved from proof of work (proof of waste) to proof of stake. Which is why I implemented Nano initially. But yes, the libertarian ideals behind them are shit. Is traditional banking better. Is Stipe just the most ethical thing ever? Would you rather we simply didn’t exist? Because apparently we need this money shit to keep a roof over our heads and eat. But don’t worry, given we don’t receive enough in donations to exist as it is and we haven’t gotten a single euro of EU funding, you might get your wish. Actually, fuck this. (2/3)
