man this shit can get fuuuuuucked.

@aral I guess, everyone now is aware that Mozilla is not what it used to be, but Firefox is still the best alternative to everything else. Yes, there are some niche alternatives and forks, but if you want a secure browser that works, your options are pretty limited. Saying this makes me sad.

Please tell us more about the need to stop legitimising Mozilla.

And you are likely referring to Steve. @stevesong@mastodon.cloud

uBlock Origin is now turned off in FF. In addition, Mozilla embedded some trackers into FF. I can go on and on.

For enhanced security and privacy, one can use AnkerfoxUser.js @ https://github.com/arkenfox/user.js with FF .

FF comes next after Ironfox(mobile)/Librewolf (desktop); it's still reusable and reliable.

I like the Kitten project; more power to your elbow @aral.

@maoshin
I can't find any info about uBO being broken on FF, not even on their issue tracker.
@aral @stevesong

When Ff notified me of disabling it and advised that I remove it, I first updated the Ff version. Lo and behold, there was no change. Extensions are automatically updated with a browser restart. I wouldn't bother so much that it was disabled.

Hopefully, I will see the notice again and screenshot it.

It is Chrome, not Firefox. My apologies. I did not bother with what browser despite updating it), knowing that there is a DNS-level guard.

I still miss how much more informed I was with uMatrix around. The lead dev is working as part of the uBO team, which still helps me block ads, but now I don't see even half of the extent to which stuff is blocked and where...
