Thank you Heydon Pickering for removing remote loading of Google Fonts on The Paciello Group’s Hugo-based inclusive documentation builder, Cupper (thepaciellogroup.github.io/cup). As a developer, the easiest way to fight is to not let the people who trust you be tracked by companies like Google. e.g., do you use Google Analytics? Don’t. It’s the most prevalent tracker on the web & allows Google its panopticon-like vantage. Stop using it. Do your bit.

@aral #Piwik is as easy to install and use as WordPress. Many people with anti-tracker plugins block Google Analytics, but since a self-hosted Piwik is not blocked, it really gives a more complete picture of your visitors.

Agree about Piwik.

It has a few good user-choice options:

- an Opt-out widget you can install on your site to allow users to opt-out of tracking

- can be set to respect Do Not Track universally or per site

- granularity of IP address recording can be reduced to improve privacy.
