Think of AI as Augmented Intelligence instead of Artificial Intelligence.

Whose intelligence is being augmented? Is it yours as an individual? (Yes, if you own and control the AI.) Or is it augmenting the intelligence of a corporation? (The norm today.)

@aral there is no real augmentation (much less real intelligence) at this stage. "AI" is a smokescreen for collecting unprecedented amounts of private data and applying pretty mundane algos...


is there a third strand where corporate intelligence is augmented, but the corporation consists in a federated set of data and routines, owned as a commons? Doesn't feel that fits neatly into either category but feels idealogically equal to the first (or a very close second).
