Bootc as a project is one with tons of promise and lots of community support. It's what is powering the next generation of Atomic Desktops, CoreOS, and Fedora IoT, not to mention all of the work that @UniversalBlue has done to show off everything that can be done today.

If you want to follow bootc more closely, regular updates from Fedora's end are shared here. :)

So, I have been using Project Bluefin the past few days, on two separate devices.

One is my now aging "gaming laptop" a circa 2018 nVidia Optimus equipped Dell G7, and the other an all Intel equipped Lenovo T14 that I bought used off eBay a couple years back.

So far I like everything about it... so much so that I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop and the suck to appear, but so far there's nothing but pleasant surprise after pleasant surprise.

First impressions of my Framework 13 after using it throughout SCALE22x:

@frameworkcomputer has done an incredible job here. I've been carrying this with me all weekend and using it in between talks and in the evening, in addition to using it for my presentation.

I'm convinced that this particular config (Ryzen 7040 and 2.8k screen) in this chassis is the best Linux laptop hardware you can get right now. Combined with Bluefin it's the best Linux desktop platform around.

There are so many nice surprises in Bluefin where it's clear someone put that extra bit of care. For instance ujust changelogs will show all of the things that changed between updates, but with a really nice UI.

Time for a new daily driver!

I've been using an older T-series Thinkpad I traded for a Librem 14 as my Bluefin laptop, but I finally decided it's time to upgrade to something modern. The current generation Framework 13 seemed like the perfect fit.

It's too bad it probably won't get to me before I leave for #scale22x, it would be fun to show it off there, but I'm excited regardless!

This whole Facebook banning the mentioning of Linux is such a hilarious cock up. 😆

They are huge contributors to Linux, and I’ve even seen articles about their engineers running Fedora on the desktop in the past.

On a slightly related note, it’s cool that #bluefin is in the process of being added to Distrowatch.
