Can we get a mouse with magsafe? Many of us use our laptops on small tables that we have to move back and forth constantly, meaning that Bluetooth mice constantly end up flying and crashing on the floor. A magsafe ring on the bottom, paired with a magsafe ring on the table, would allow us to snap it securely to the table when not in use. It could even be used for charging the mouse as well. Thank you.

Chromebooks are great! Fast boot times, Linux and Android containers and a great UI. Yet, Google's insistence on overriding user-defined DNS settings is infuriating. No matter what you configure, it stubbornly defaults to 8.8.8.8, requiring tedious workarounds to enforce network preferences. It’s the same frustration as Microsoft forcing Edge—a blatant disregard for user autonomy. Why do tech giants insist on knowing better than their users? #Chromebook #Google #Microsoft #fthem #ChromeOS

Can you tell us what happens on the "sandbox all the things" goal?

I think this is a pretty crucial step forward, even though #sandbox technologies (most often through user namespaces) are more problematic than I initially thought.

(Basically, user #namespaces open up #privesc dangers to the monolithic #kernel, which is incredible. #Android and #ChromeOS use #LXC, mounts and #SELinux for #sandboxing)

Very useful link, Thank you, because I've been able to switch on "Developer Mode". My keys for that were different at the 1st boot, but I found how to do it.

Then CTRL+D pass the boot OS verification: Turned Off. I needed to reboot 2 or 3 time to install the "Developer Mode". & "Debug On" seems necessary too!

I feel I'm in the good way.
To be continued. 🖖 😎

Not going to lie when the support staff wrote me made up terms for the offer, I was kinda angry at them. The offer has no hooks or "new members only" or "not useable when previously had a trial", in fact it stated that if I had a previous trial activated it would simply overwrite it. And no "paid accounts after 2019 are exempt" stuff. Really weird that they wrote fabricated terms to me. #google #one #offer #chromeos

Hivemind contemplation.
Today I had possibly the weirdest thing I've ever seen involving computers.

Chromebook running MS Remote Desktop App as a client to XRDP on Rocky 9. Everything works well except.

Typing a less than or plus sign from the keyboard doesn't work:
'<' renders as '>' and
'+' does nothing.

Unless you use left-shift and hit a different key first, then press '<' or '+' without lifting off the left-shift -- in which case they render correctly.

Right-shifting always renders these characters incorrectly.

This only appears when connecting RDP to a Linux box. Everything works perfectly well via ssh, locally, and RDPed to Windows.

Any clues?
