Aral BalkanJust rebooted and I’m up and running with Fedora Silverblue 40.(Just tried reinstalling mozilla-openh264 – so videos work in Firefox – but it failed with the same error. Not a big deal, I’m using <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/@Vivaldi" class="u-url mention">@Vivaldi</a> as my main browser these days anyway and I guess the Fedora folks will fix this in time.)More importantly, I wonder if the screen reader has been fixed yet. I started with their initial effort on <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/ublue" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ublue</a> and has been happily running on my Microsoft Surface 2, everything works perfectly. It's been years since I used <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/Fedora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Fedora</a> and I never thought I'd be using it again, but things have changed, especially with <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/oss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#oss</a> community efforts like this.

Aral BalkanScratch that, spoke too soon. The final install also succeeded but now the box won’t reboot. Aral BalkanJust updated a server I hadn’t touched in over six years from Ubuntu 16.04 → 18.04 → 20.04 → 22.04 and it all went smoothly; not a single issue.I can’t wait for a server with Fedora Silverblue-style upgrades (CoreOS?) that’s supported by the major VPS providers in default images. Upgrades are like a simple git pull and take almost no time at all, even between major versions. It’s very common that I’m running today’s OS on my machine.And if something goes wrong, you can always roll back.
