Quite an unbelievable sky, a harbinger of things to come.
Good night, and good luck.

The United States is actively abdicating its leadership in the commercial space sector. Make no mistake that our adversaries are paying close attention.
"Layoffs of staff at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have included its Office of Space Commerce, potentially affecting work on space traffic coordination and commercial remote sensing licensing."

First play date with the seestar s30 last night. I took it to a community observatory in the hills about half an hour outside Melbourne. So a dark-ish sky but still some light pollution.
Pretty good considering it’s a 30mm aperture telescope with a focal length of 15cm. Easy to set up and operate. You’ll want one as your next $holiday gift ;-)
These are all on-device stacks of 20 second exposures. 5 mins for the orion nebula, half an hour for the horse head, 8 minutes for carina and 5 minutes for the tarantula.
ESA's Integral gamma-ray gazer gasps its last.
After almost 23 years on the job, European Space Agency's (ESA) International Gamma-Ray Astrophysics Laboratory (Integral) is set to make its final observations.
As February ends, we recognize #BlackHistoryMonth and highlight (just a few of) the amazing people who made significant contributions to science, engineering, and space exploration.
From top to bottom: George Carruthers, Katherine Johnson, Charles Bolden, Mae Jemison, and Beth Brown.
One welcome side effect of the rush of new robotic Moon missions is that we're getting some wonderful Earth footage along the way. This just in from Intuitive Machines' IM-2 "Athena."
