I feel for the developers of Twitter applications - especially those that made a living from it - but it does show once again that relying on walled gardens is a recipe for disaster.
But for some reason, people never seem to want to learn this lesson.
@thomholwerda Because initially they have the potential to make some good money.
And because, sadly, there aren’t many alternatives where independent/small orgs can actually make a living without pitching their tent to some trillion-dollar corporation or other.
Because capitalism.
