@micchiato whats he saying?
@nap @micchiato@mastodon.social According to the post on Instagram, “And what is it you said about Nazis, huh?”
@aral @nap @micchiato
German here.
He says:
"Was ist mit 'Nazi'? Was ist mit 'Nazi', hä?"
The grammar is singular. So policemen is asking angry why he was called a 'Nazi'.
There is a lot that can be reformed in the police, but this is a rather healthy reaction for a policeman I would say.
@aral This is quite understandable given german historical background. This not a "mistake", it was an awkward way of protesting way out of line. This is why the policeman is so angry. He can't stand being called that way. This is a rather healthy reaction I guess.
@messaroundmarx ok guys, calm down and open your History books, maybe you'll learn something. Plus you need to have a German cultural background to understand what i mean. And police brutality is of course inadmissible
@Alb_
I don't need a history book to condemn excessive police violence which you have justified ("healthy reaction").
@messaroundmarx
I condemn police brutality as well with the utmost force.
My point was only retorical on the phrase "was ist mit Nazis". Nothing more.
@Alb_
ok, i've got your point, but i still can't debate this issue neutrally as you do it, in abstraction from this hierarchical situation, where a policeman is using violence by virtue of his warranted monopolized authority against a defenseless citizen.
A police officer who is acting excessively violent must reckon to be insulted as a Nazi. This does not justify to intensify his violent acting.
@Alb_ Police brutality = healthy reaction. Hmm, I don’t think so. Goodbye.
