Israeli ‘journalist’ just threatening all Arabs on German TV, calling us dogs.

Somehow feels appropriate that this is spoken in German.

@ayoub It doesn't help the case if don't rephrase her rightly. Strange moment, strange word, but she called those leaders 'rats'. For me as a follower, it makes it harder to reboost your posts, as I don't know if your interpretation of a situation is adequate and fully according facts.

@avlap2 @ayoub So are the subtitles wrong? Because, if we’re for some reason nitpicking the crap out of a bigot’s bigotry, the subtitles show her addressing Arab viewers and quoting “every dog gets its own”. Thereby equating Arabs to dogs, before clarifying that they’re more like rats. If the subtitles are wrong, blame that, not the original poster. And there’s something to be said for missing the forest for the trees.

@aral
The subtitles are accurate. She talks about dogs generally and only calls Sinwar specifically a rat. (I am a German native speaker.)
@avlap2 @ayoub

@denki @aral @avlap2 @ayoub

Yet she specifically addresses Arab viewers when she speaks of dogs "generally". That's a rather oddly specific generalization, no?

@VulcanTourist @denki @aral @avlap2 @ayoub She addresses arab speaking viewers and speaks of dogs (and rats) as a metaphor for terrorists.

@kerubo @denki @aral @avlap2 @ayoub

Yes, and "terrorists" as a metaphor for all Arabs, whom she addressed specifically. You're wagging the dog, here.

@VulcanTourist @denki @aral @avlap2 @ayoub If you say so. I simply tried to clarify what is actually said in the short clip.

@kerubo @denki @aral @avlap2 @ayoub

Unless the subtitling is wrong in translation - and one person confirmed it's not - then I already knew what was said, and that is what I restated. I'm autistic, and I'm not that literal, even I can read through the thin line of what was said to divine the intent.

@VulcanTourist
What you said is NOT a restatement of what she said in the clip (neither in original nor in subtitle). It is simply your GUESS of what her INTENT was.

It is also perfectly reasonable to ASSUME that she equates terrorists and dogs. After all, terrorists are the subject of the clip. And what would be the purpose of warning the German Arabs about what happens to "dogs" if they were already "dogs" in her mind.
@kerubo @aral @avlap2 @ayoub

Aral Balkan

@denki @VulcanTourist @kerubo @avlap2 @ayoub Hey Tobias, quick question: why do you think she’s warning German Arabs and not Germans in general? Aren’t German Arabs just, y’know, Germans? Do you think it’s maybe because she’s a racist piece of shit defending a country that’s actively engaged in carrying out a genocide?

@aral She might be racist or not, I can't tell from the short clip. I don't think she considers all (German) Arabs terrorists though. @VulcanTourist @kerubo @avlap2 @ayoub

@aral @denki @VulcanTourist @avlap2 @ayoub Hey Aral, one could assume she is speaking to Arab speaking people in germany due to lower language barriers. I would also suggest not to mix up a people and it's government, especially when the country is ruled by an authoritarian figure. A little more precision and a little less assumptions might be helpful.

@kerubo @denki @VulcanTourist @avlap2 @ayoub You know what, I’m going to save my “benefit of the doubt” for people who don’t call other people dogs and rats while defending a literal fucking genocide.

@aral If you want to jump to conclusions, be my guest. Just don't expect me to do the same. @kerubo @VulcanTourist @avlap2 @ayoub
