When signing up for things that require your email, use the site name as your surname, so you can later work out who sells your god damn email.

@aral @selzero Or use duckduckgo's email forwarding service to create a different email for each site, which has the added benefit of stripping trackers, and allowing you to suspend the email address. (Works best with a password manager that integrates it, like Bitwarden).
