I'll be honest, I did not see this coming. I knew Bezos was pro-AI but I thought he thought of it cynically, as a way to disempower workers. I didn't think of him as being someone who bought into his own propaganda.

Sometimes I'm wrong, and an honest person admits that when they are.

@passenger @aral Billionaires do not care about their media outlets that lose money serving the public. It's just one more thing to have in the portfolio which they can then whip out at election time to manipulate the public. In the meantime, shoving AI down that same public's throat is another experiment to test tolerance with nothing to lose. I believe Bezos hates the post.

Laying off people started with Musk after he bought Twitter in larger scale and rippled through many companies, without even considering AI, causing recession and inflation.
The richest either never think about their impact or rather make this intentionally.
Now the second wave of lay offs due to AI.
It's not gonna get better.
