The only way things might change in the US is if the people rise up. Mass protests. A general strike. While I’m not giving up hope that that might happen, I’m also not holding my breath. In the meanwhile, those of us on the outside must do whatever we can to band together and divest ourselves of reliance on the US… especially in critical areas (and that includes technology and Internet infrastructure) before we’re held to ransom. The US is not becoming a fascist country, it has become a fascist country and we’re all fair game. The sooner we come to terms with this new reality and start taking action to protect ourselves as well as the core tenets and institutions of civilisation itself, the better.
