@aral BTW, your site at kitten.small-web.org/ doesn't return a Content-Type header so it breaks in elinks :(

@aral BTW I wrote some minimalist forum code (PHP+SQLite) targeting tech-frugal setups (i.e. minimal JS, progressive enhancement, no tracking, etc). Is this something that small web is interested in?

@thinkMoult “Small Web” (as I’ve been calling it, at least) is the peer to peer web stack I’m working on with the goal of making it under a minute to get you up and running with a site where you can post publicly, be followed by other servers that speak the Small Web protocol, and also talk privately with them via public-key encryption.*

That said, I think any initiative that makes it easier to self host stuff is great, whether it’s peer to peer (instances of one) or not :)

Aral Balkan · Small Web: computer science colloquium at University of GroningenDownload the video and watch it with your favourite video player. Recording1 of the live stream of a computer science colloquium on the Small Web I presented at the University of Groningen on June 11th, 2024. (Transcript) Update: I was going back and forth between calling the personal social network Place and Yarn. In the talk, I refer to it as Yarn. As I’ve been working more on it, I’ve reverted to its original name, Place.

@aral thanks for the explanation! I read through the tutorials and now understand what it's about! Sorry for the misunderstanding!

@thinkMoult Not at all and, like I said, it’s great to have the sorts of things you’re working on :)

@thinkMoult (Also, I have a lot of work still to do on the docs + on explaining it better. Iterating as I go.) :)
