The Open Web Index goes public on June 6!
For over two years OpenWebSearch.eu has worked on a federated pan-European Open Web Index to promote independent web search. In June @openwebsearcheu will make almost a petabyte (and growing) of open web data available to anyone who is interested.
Join the kick-off event to learn how to access and use the Open Web index.

@nlnet @dentangle @openwebsearcheu “Given that the European Commission has launched the InvestAI initiative to mobilize €200 billion of investment in artificial intelligence, the Open Web Index comes with perfect timing.”
Glad to see you’re still doing things for all the right reasons. *smh*
Yeah, not the aspect I'd choose to highlight in a press release, but the marketing folks do love their buzzwords.
OWI does look pretty interesting otherwise with a lot of uses beyond feeding AI slop machines.
Unfortunately the EU has jumped on the AI/LLM bandwagon just like they did crypto before it. I know NLnet are pushing back as hard as they can on that, just as they did with crypto. Unfortunately the EU sets the targets for the funds, not NLnet.
@dentangle @nlnet @openwebsearcheu Don’t much care what they do anymore, to be honest. They rejected us (Small Technology Foundation and our Small Web project) over and over and over again. We’ve managed without them. As far as I’m concerned they’re irrelevant. Less than useless.
