“In 1972, scientists from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology made a bold prediction. By developing a scientific model that considered the way that humans and the planet interact with each other, the researchers determined that society was heading toward collapse by the mid-21st century, driven largely by the forces of growing population and capital over-exploiting limited planetary resources…Turns out, we're right on schedule”

@aral and KMPG, who decided to research this, aren't exactly leftie/green activists either (which could be a good thing in this context, as capitalists are more likely to listen to them)

@aral *sigh* the conservative candidate as next german chancellor, Armin Laschet, a few days ago:

"We have to get better to explain to young people, that climate protection cannot be achieved so quickly"

@aral I mean, for a pep talk, it sure sounds nice being able to predict such things with such a high degree of accuracy.

Not that we're supposed to put any consideration into how far there's a powerful elite actively working on bringing about such a collapse.
@aral I find the video a bit off topic, he start talking about limited resources and then switch to surveillance, both are bad but they aren't that much related (aside from being a social issue)
