Philip<p>I’d love to see a distributed global community library for the A Book Apart titles once we’ve bought up all the remaining copies from the authors. How great would it be to have a network of people sharing these around now that they’re out of print?</p><p>(Maybe each recipient adds a note/name inside the cover before passing it on, and you see this cool community log!)</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/ABookApart" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ABookApart</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.nz/tags/AListApart" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AListApart</span></a></p>
David O'Brien<p>Aaand ... I've just discovered that <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://front-end.social/@mrtrimble" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>mrtrimble</span></a></span> has already put together an almost-complete list of <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/ABookApart" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ABookApart</span></a> books with links to read free online, or buy from, or via, the author.</p><p>Which has saved me a ton of work. Thanks Ryan!</p><p><a href="https://ryantrimble.com/blog/a-book-apart-books/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">ryantrimble.com/blog/a-book-ap</span><span class="invisible">art-books/</span></a></p>
David O'Brien<p>I find it quite sad that the whole <a href="https://mastodon.scot/tags/ABookApart" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ABookApart</span></a> series is winding up.</p><p>They were a mainstay of my personal learning curve. So much wisdom, experience and knowledge packed into such slender, easily digestible volumes.</p><p>On the other hand, it's great that authors like <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://front-end.social/@chriscoyier" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>chriscoyier</span></a></span> are making their titles available free to read, or for a negligible cost.</p><p>I'll try to curate a few of them here.</p>

Nicolas Hoizey<p>I'm really sad to read that A Book Apart is ceasing its publishing activity, which for almost 15 years has built up a collection of must-have reference books.</p><p>I still have some of these to read… 😅</p><p><a href="https://mamot.fr/tags/ABookApart" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ABookApart</span></a> <a href="https://mamot.fr/tags/book" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>book</span></a></p><p>⚓️ <a href="https://nicolas-hoizey.com/notes/2024/03/01/1/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">nicolas-hoizey.com/notes/2024/</span><span class="invisible">03/01/1/</span></a></p>

Thorsten Beeck<p>I just finished reading the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ABookApart" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ABookApart</span></a> book Accessibility For Everyone by <span class="h-card"><a href="https://mastodon.laurakalbag.com/@laura" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>laura</span></a></span>. It’s a great book that I totally recommend to everyone who wants to learn how to make the web a more accessible and inclusive place.</p>
