@jwildeboer Right, so basically a cache should never contain any information that cannot be recreated. You should always be able to delete a cache without losing data. If you’re losing data by clearing the cache, it’s not a cache, it’s an unreliable database :)

It seems likely being overzealous clearing of that cache and having to refetch media is better than the current status quo of unbounded growth. Start by at least doing something, and then follow up with implementing better measures of recency.
