If you're hurting too much, try to refrain from rubbing tears from your eyes with those same hands. All from personal experience.
If you have kids, you should not help them if they get something in their eye - also from personal experience.
@jeppe Ouch, yeah. Although soap and water did help (which would make sense given it’s an oil). Alcohol should also help so I guess if you wanted to be a Real Man™ about it, you could try sticking your jolly roger in a glass of whiskey. Or a tub of yogurt, perhaps.
@aral I think it very *manly* to just wait it out 
Next time - because who learns - I will just have a glass of whiskey to enjoy will waiting for the pain to go away.
The tub of yogurt is probably the best solution, in fact.
