I wouldn‘t recommend press space bar on RTF files in Files app on GNOME until this is fixed (have had to restart my session a few times now):

I could not reproduce the issue with GNOME nautilus 44.2.1 on Arch Linux.

true, still not great, at least it give the chance to try open the RTF file with different software.
I think that going to report. lmao I was doubting about the RTF file format itself since was/(is?) a proprietary document file format from Microsoft Windows, but I found this:
