Corporations hate paying tax, so here’s my radical idea: let’s scrap taxes for corporations.
That’s right, 0% tax.
Who’s with me?
Instead, we make all public services and utilities free at the point of consumption—that’s water, electricity, education, healthcare, etc.—and we make corporations pay for it, the percentage of the burden shared based on their annual revenue.
We could call it, I don’t know, Compulsory Corporate Social Responsibility or something.
Who’s still with me?
@aral
Or, floating this idea - have a local 'unemployment tax' whereby in each region all businesses are taxed in proportion to their profit and based on how many unemployed people are resident.
Zero unemployment=zero unemployment tax.
Cheaper to employ than pay the tax?
@PeterF Interesting idea yet we shouldn’t have to work (especially for faceless corporations) in order to have our basic needs met. At least not in a modern, civilised society. Employment isn’t the goal.
