@ThomHartmann, I used to believe as many #Conservatives do in "Small gov't".

But what changed my mind was standing in line at the grocery store the day before the Super Bowl one year. The lines (and wait) were long, and suddenly one checker went on break, making things worse.

Fewer employees didn't make things better.

What people REALLY want is less BUREAUCRACY and a more EFFICIENT gov't. Reducing the number of employees does NOT guarantee that.

Only CROOKS want fewer "cops on the beat".

Darren L. Linvill, a researcher at Clemson University’s #Media Forensics Hub, said *#conservatives* online were “building up the riots in a performative way” to help bolster #Trump’s claims that #LosAngeles had been taken over by “violent, insurrectionist mobs.”

Linvill said the posts were also “a bit self-fulfilling.” “As they direct attention to it,” he said, “more #protesters will show up.”

The US is now officially a banana republic dictatorship. Sponsored, supported, and voted for by our white trash, hicks, ignorants, stupids, and billionaires relatives, friends, and neighbors. The only thing we can do for now is remind them what they did and who they are. Do not fear their anger. Show them their faces can be smacked too... Let's ignore, mock, shun them. They must feel as irrelevant as possible. #trump #gop #conservatives #christians #fascists #redstates

John Crace writes: "[Stride] has the air of a rural bank manager who has been moved sideways to a branch scheduled for closure. Someone who has made a career out of saying no to nearly every mortgage proposal that crosses his desk, because that way he can never be accused of having made a risky investment."
