In this black and white photograph, pillars rise out of the ocean waters in all the remains of what once was the fishing pier just off of Gasparilla Island. Locals of the Island call these remaining pillars Bocahenge in reference to the town of Boca Grande.

This black and white photograph depicts an overgrown and seemingly forgotten section of forest. At the center of the image stands an old, rusted iron gate structure — possibly once part of a larger fence or entrance. The gate is heavily weathered and entangled in vines and brambles, blending into the surrounding wild growth. Leafless trees and underbrush dominate the scene, creating a tangled, almost claustrophobic atmosphere. The absence of color enhances the sense of decay, mystery, and abandonment, evoking a mood that could belong in a gothic novel or a forgotten fairytale.

On the right are two columns that come halfway up and then have carved flowers and a carved corn on top with the flat square piece. Above those two pieces for rounded carved pieces go straight up in a slight curve. The one on the furthest right has leaves carved into it and it's a bit thick. The next one is thinner and has small triangles carved in it. The third is a plain white half circle and the fourth is athin line with half circles carved sideways in it going up. On the left, the concrete comes up to the top of where the corners are and then a column goes straight up that has been carved with large zigzag lines.

The senseless end of the road for many.
The symbolic end of the railroad tracks in the Nazi concentration/extermination camp in Birkenau. When one says Auschwitz, this is the camp they're most likely referring to.
